User Testing

UserTesting focuses mainly on testing usability for different apps and websites. The studies will have you go through and use the app or site being tested and speak out loud your thoughts while you do so. Sometimes, you will have a live one on one Zoom call where they will ask specific questions about what you are seeing and doing.

The pay structure is very simple. Short tests (usually under 10 minutes) are $4, and longer studies are $10. Then the one on one interviews are $30/$60/$90 depending on the scheduled length of time, which is 30/60/90 minutes respectively. All the 60 minute interviews I've ever had never go that long, so I always end up getting paid $60 for about 30 minutes of time. Payouts pend for 14 days after your test is compelted, then paid directly to your Paypal.

Qualifying surveys will pop up at any point during the day, so it's best to keep the site open on your computer so you get notified instantly when there is something new. Some will need to be taken on your computer, and others on a mobile device. Also, spots fill up quickly so just like everything else, you need to be quick to secure your place in a study.

At first, I was very nervous about doing the interviews, but the moderators are always super nice and casual, making the whole experience very relazed and laid back. But, if you are not comfortable with an audio or face recording, or being on a Zoom call with a stranger, then this app is not going to be very beneficial for you.

There are some days where I have had 3 interviews scheduled and made over $100. There are other days that I don't qualify for anything. It is not the most consistent, but the days that are good...are REALLY good.
