MTurk

MTurk is kind of a cross between task-based and survey site. There are some micro tasks where you can do a bunch from a batch, and there are also academic studies. What you choose to focus on is up to personal preference. When I first started, I did alot of microtasks just to get my approved HITS up. Once you get over 1000 approved, it will open many other opportunities for you. You can choose the amount of time between payouts (I have mine set to 3 days), and it will deposit directly into your bank account.

People seem to have a love/hate relationship with MTurk. Some will tell you it's not worth your time, others will tell you they still make a decent amount from it. I think alot of that comes from the fact that at it's height, MTurk was bringing in WAY more money for some people than it is now. For me, I can make about $10-$20 a day (not including weekends) on it, so it's worth having open for me.

Despite popular belief, you do not need masters certification to make money on MTurk. I started in January brand new, and I am making around $300 a month. You will likely need to run an extension if you want to be competitive. Basically, the extension will scan MTurk constantly looking for new projects, then when you select the ones you want to work, it will repeatedly try to accept the job quickly. If you are not running these, it is really hard to be fast enough to accept projects unless it is a batch that has alot open.

The MTurk guide I have linked on the side menu is very helpful as far as running the scripts and how to maximize your potential on the site.
